From a security standpoint, it's important to keep all your programs updated.

It is quite possible and normal for IE to open something even if you have another browser set as your default browser.
Although whenever a program opens a web browser, Chrome is the program that's used.

Hi bob3160,

This is another reason for everybody out on Windows to keep Windows Blue E fully updated and patched. Allthough it may not be your browser by default, it comes so deeply integrated/embedded into the Microsoft OS that the security of it is immenent and equals general MS OS security.
