Avast Premier: router resets when trying to receive email
« on: August 21, 2015, 04:26:31 PM »
We did not have this problem with Avast Free.

Two days ago we purchased a license for 3 computers for Avast Premier. After installing it on two computers, we started experiencing very frequent and annoying resets of our router. Router lights going off, then reconnect, then a few seconds and it goes off again.

We nailed the issue to receiving email. One computer is Windows XP and uses Outlook Express. The other is Windows 7 and uses Windows Mail. If we keep these programs closed in both computers, the router stays on. As soon as we open any of these and it receives the first or second email, the router resets itself.

Please help, we don't have a clue. We need both the antivirus and emails programs :)

Thanks.

Thanks I did as you said, immediately created the ticket. As of right now, almost three days after I posted the support ticket, I have had no response at all. Is Avast support always this slow??

Post your ticket # here and I'll try to get someone from Avast to respond.
(It normally takes 5-7 business days for a response.)

Thanks bob3160... My ticket is #ROF-612-67278 .

The usual 5-7 business days delay is for users with a paid license like myself?

Reported. The time frame for support is for everyone. (They are working on making it much shorter.)
Most items can be handled much quicker here on the forum. Yours is probably the exception.
