Avast Cleanup Error
« on: August 31, 2015, 01:07:24 AM »
Hi,

I have been using free avast for a couple months and just recently starting getting this message at the bottom right of my screen and I can't seem to get to stop or to make it disappear. It counts up to 51/51 and then stops, disappears and comes right back on and counts back up to 51/51. Please help me make it stop.

I would attach an image but i can't seem to find where or how to attach an image but it says
"Avast Cleanup
An instance of the service is already running"

Thanks,

Arturo

I am having the same exact popup on my computer. Additionally, after exactly 1 minute, another popup appears that says my computer has been optimized, then almost immediately SHUTS DOWN my computer. I can't do anything!

Help!

I have exactly the same problem!!!!! Continuous pop up messages...
Probably, it is a bug, and I hope the nearest update will fix it.

Hi!

We are aware of this bug that affects the Scheduling of Avast Cleanup when it is the 31th of the month. It will be fixed in the next release (Avast 2015 R4).
In the meantime, disabling the scheduling in Avast - Settings - Tools - Cleanup - Customize - Scheduling, or setting it to a date other than 31th should bypass the bug.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

I was able to get to go away by running a smart scan and restarting my computer. Maybe try that in the mean time.
