Is it ok to use computer programs when running a scan?
« on: September 10, 2015, 01:15:46 PM »
I've used Avast for a long time now but recently noticed how people I know actually stop using their internet browsers etc. when htey scan their computer, where as I just keep surfing on the internet or just keep browser open even when AFK all while scan is running, and I'm told that then Avast (and probably Malwarebytes too) might not be able to scan some files, like browser cookies etc. With my father it has been that sometime in the past Avast has asked him to close browsers for the time of the scan or otherwise it cannot scan them. So should I always just stop using my computer every time I scan it with Avast/MLB?

No need to close browsers or stop doing what ever else might be happening, Avast will scan in the background with no problem as will Malwarebytes.

Or activate screensaver scan, then it scan when you leave the comp

Also not that avast have real time protection, meaning all activity in computer when on is monitored by avast
