I understand you. It became really boring. But unfortunately this is the new Avast policy and it seems it has no intention to change it despite the several complains.  :(

Is there any particular reason for having three forum accounts, one for each post ?

New forum members have to complete captcha verification for first three posts, by now that would have ended using one forum account.

Lots of associated StopForumSpam (throw away email address) entries for your email domain.

It just looks strange and given your dislike of pop-ups, I thought the captcha popups would be very similar ;)

Admittedly I don't see nag screens as being an effective promotional method, but I only get a pop-up over the systems tray every three days or so. It can be clicked off in a second. It's no biggie.

Actually, I find it annoying when people expect to get something of high value for free. If you do not want the pop-ups, get the paid version or use a different free AV.

I'm pretty sure AV distributors get tax concessions for releasing security freeware, so the incentive to make decent quality security software freely available for the average home user is already determined.

If you do not want the pop-ups, get the paid version or use a different free AV.

I tend to agree with you on this, but I often wonder about the efficacy of nag screens that pop up over the systems tray in a peremptory fashion.
