Strange behavior. (Solved through a manual install)
« on: September 04, 2015, 02:49:13 PM »

As you can see, I received a notice that the VPS database was not up to date.
When I tried doing an update, I got the message that it was alreadt up to date.
I tried a program update and it mentioned v. XXX 2218 but stopped with an error message that the server was unreachable.

I have the same update-??
I wish someone from Avast would explain what is going on. I have enough to deal with using Windows 10 and now an un announced AIS update?

I have the same update-??
I wish someone from Avast would explain what is going on. I have enough to deal with using Windows 10 and now an un announced AIS update?

If you have previously used the beta stream then you will get the new beta build; the main hassle I have is that you have to constantly check your Program Update settings as they keep being changed to auto program update and I keep changing it back to 'Ask when an update is available.' At least this time it did ask, I'm just about to do the update.

So I would check your program update settings to ensure you don't get an unannounced program update.
Windows 10 Home 64bit/ Acer Aspire F15/ Intel Core i5 7200U 2.5GHz, 8GB DDR4 memory, 256GB SSD, 1TB HDD/ avast! free 24.3.6108 (build 24.3.8975.762) UI 1.0.801/ Firefox, uBlock Origin, uMatrix/ MailWasher Pro/ Avast! Mobile Security

I understand that but I would like a download link so I can install it clean. Right now i have an upgrade on top of an upgrade and then another one.  I also find it strange that No one on this for new about this. I normally visit here looking for upgrades , but NADA.

@GTX66

Nomally Avast populates all the ( Beta ) download servers first with the latest ( Beta ) version, before they publish the release notes.
So it is not unusual that an update is offered in the UI before it has been actually " released ".

I've manually downloaded v2229 from https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=176033.0
A manual installation took care of the problem.
