HELP!
« on: November 26, 2005, 03:04:05 AM »
I cannot figure out how to make avast stop blocking my son's game.  He cannot log into his game (Everquest or Runescape basically) while Avast is running.  He keeps turning my virus and firewall software off so he can play his games and needless to say, I keep getting virus's and problems because of this.  I cannot find a way to allow his games to be played while the program is running.  Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

I think you could try the Exclusions lists if your son's game is not an Internet Game but only a game to play in your computer, whitout being to be connected to the Internet

For the Standard Shield provider (on-access scanning):
Left click the 'a' blue icon, click on the provider icon at left and then Customize.
Go to Advanced tab and click on Add button...

For the other providers (on-demmand scanning):
Right click the 'a' blue icon, click Program Settings.
Go to Exclusions tab and click on Add button...

Second, it's necessary to put the complete mask to the exclusions, i.e. something like
c:\program files\game\*

Are you sure this game just NOT require to be connected to the Internet?
Are you sure this game does NOT download anything from Internet?
If so, better not use the Exclusion Lists.
