On 7 Sep 2015, I purchased 1-yr license under 30-day money-back guarantee. On 17 Sep 2015, I checked thoroughly "My Account" but found no way to put up a request for refund.

Then I checked my "Avast--Order Confirmation" which was sent by "avast@ndslindia.com", and therefore, I sent them a request for refund. But the mail got returned undelivered.

Next, I googled "how to claim refund from Avast under their 30-day money-back guarantee"? Responses were not at all encouraging. Other customers who had purchased Avast had narrated their experience. I wish, I had checked this before making payment. That would have dissuaded me from buying Avast.

I, then, sent a refund request to ccare@avast.com. An automated reply came asking me to visit https://www.avast.com/support. So, I went there and finally landed at "My Account" page from where I had begun my journey.

So, what's next? I seek your advice. Please help.

Did you try the following:
https://support.avast.com/Tickets/Submit/RenderForm/27/&cls02&ptf01&lic01&scr06
Choose your language and submit your 'Refund Request' to Avast. This can take 5 to 10 working days, depending on the payment method.

If you have done that then you should have received a support ticket ID number ?

The support ticket function is a first in first out process, if you submit multiple tickets that could actually slow the process down.

MBR,
I can confirm that we received your request. You received a confirmation into your email.
We'll get back to you soon.

No worries. If you are in the 30 days refund warranty then you are eligible for the refund.

Ticket ID #NUL-234-48506 of 19 Sept

Vladimir Hornicek confirmed on 21 Sep that online shop had been notified to refund the amount.

He also clarified that the refund process could take up to a maximum of 15 working days.

Three weeks later, I find that my license still shows as Valid in My Account!

This should mean that simply no action has been taken to process the refund even after three weeks.

Rather strange, isn't it?

If you can, you should try and censor your email... And PM it to someone (Staff) when/if they need it. Just so you don't get spammed. Completely optional though.

Oh! I get it. Probably you wanted to caution me about personal details like email, etc. appearing on those attachments. I shall try to be careful in future. Thank you, Michael.
