Microsoft identified vulnerabilities in Windows that could have a similar effect to that of the dreaded MSBlast worm in August. Though the new flaws affect the Remote Procedure Call (RPC) feature in Windows 2000, NT, and XP, they are different and require additional patching (from CNET Reviews Security Center)
