Infection: MacOS:MacInst-B [Cryp]
« on: October 05, 2015, 04:03:31 PM »
Please help, I got the following notice as infection:
Path: /System/Library/CoreServices/CoreTypes.bun....tents/Resources/ToolbarMusicFolderIcon.icns
Infection Details: MacOS:MacInst-B [Cryp]

What does it mean? Can I delate it?

Thanks for your help.

/Volumes/Time Machine Backups/Backups.backupdb/Lawrence’s MacBook Pro/2014-02-05-180510/Macintosh HD/System/Library/CoreServices/CoreTypes.bundle/Contents/Resources/ToolbarMusicFolderIcon.icns

I'm getting the same type of infection notice for that. The info says it's a Apple File when I look it up in finder. I'm thinking this type of file is coming up as a false positive? The file has been in my system for almost two years now.

Hi,

I'm getting the same infection on the same file on my Mum's iMac, but not on my Mac Pro - which makes me think it may not be a false positive otherwise my Mac Pro would flag it up as well.

Seems strange that 3 people now have this in the space of less than a week.

Would like to try and get some further info on this too.

All the best,

Matthew
