Unfortunately, it seems that there are some back-end Avast server issues that are affecting us.
Our users are seeing Avast show the message that they need to plug in a wired cable and to check their connection to the internet (see the attachment). This is further worsened as we password protect the entire Avast interface so every few minutes they need to hit Cancel to continue working.
We know the connection to Internet is good, we are seeing this with people in over 15 different states throughout the entire USA using all kinds of different Internet providers. Further there are constant timeouts ("server.error" message) trying to login to the forum or the online Dashboard. Once logged in, making and saving changes to (for example adjusting the template to not require password) causes a message that a problem happened and we have the option to submit error details to support.
I could not see anything on the Twitter account to indicate problems, no other status notification that I can locate on the website that indicate you know of there is a problem.
Cloud is great until you have no control to fix and cannot do anything to help the problem... Programming the software to show such distracting messages when there is really no issue on the client side is "not good for business"
edit: I guess it took me to long to type this - others are reporting the issue as well. -
