home network security problem ?
« on: October 09, 2015, 09:24:09 PM »
I have windows XPsp3 and Avast! Free. I have un-installed Avast! with the removal tool and in safe mode and re-installed Avast! also in safe mode with no other antivirus or antispyware programs installed. I still get a message when I run a SmartScan that tells me I have problems in my home network security and yet if I run a separate Network Security scan I am told all is well ! I have a Cisco Gateway router as well as a Belkin WiFi router and both are configured correctly.  Am I missing something ? I have been through my network settings repeatedly and have found no issues. Avast! will not specify what issues it found. I am baffled ! What gives ?

What avast version do you have latest regular release is 2015 10.4.2233 ?

There have been some issues in what is reported in regard of the Smart Scan and that reported in the Network Security scan (many such topics in the forums on this).

I'm running the avast 2016 beta2 build 11.1.2235 currently and that issue has been resolved in this.
Windows 10 Home 64bit/ Acer Aspire F15/ Intel Core i5 7200U 2.5GHz, 8GB DDR4 memory, 256GB SSD, 1TB HDD/ avast! free 24.3.6108 (build 24.3.8975.762) UI 1.0.801/ Firefox, uBlock Origin, uMatrix/ MailWasher Pro/ Avast! Mobile Security

OK, that avast are aware of and have acknowledged and is currently fixed in this beta version.

Personally as an avast user, I normally don't use the Smart Scan function other than testing it out in the beta and or when people report problems.
