Pro to Free
« on: September 29, 2015, 08:39:29 AM »
For my work I had been using Pro since several years and it's renewal is due in a couple of weeks. I have wound up my business since about six months. I therefore now no longer need / use Pro. How do I downgrade to Free? On expiry of Pro will it downgrade it automatically? Do I need to run the installer again?

I don't know if you have auto renewal enabled ?
You would have to disable that or you could be charged.

If you are not on auto-renewal, the easiest way to get back to the free version is through
the add/remove or programs and features function.
Just before your current license ends, do the following:

I have had so many problems, lately, that I decided to remove the autorenewal.
I may or may not use Avast Free, when the Pro expires in Jan.2016. As for removingvAvast itv is best to download the avastclear.exe program, available on the Avast website.

Thanks for your replies, but since I have not much been using this PC and was away, took some time to check back in. Now my Pro has already expired. It seems to be working but would this 'uninstall' method to switch to free still work?
