Avast give's me spikes on proces time

Since i installed Avast home my processor time rises with spikes (40%) and more
This gives me problems with gamimng en watching movies

anyone an idea wath this can be ?

What is the sensitivity on the Standard Shield provider, Normal, High or Custom?

The only reason the spike occurs is because avast is scanning something, what that may be is the question. Lowering the Standard Shield setting to the default, Normal should restrict the number and types of file avast scans.
