Unsafe e-mail communication from Digital River re Avast renewal
« on: October 16, 2015, 11:56:15 AM »
I have received an e-mail from Digital River asking me to update my card details to ensure renewal of my Avast product.

This e-mail contains login credentials (order no + password) to my account. I am not inclined to click on the links and input this information as it may be unsafe. Even if the e-mail is genuine (and I believe it may be) there is no justification in sending link with login details in plain text, especially when dealing with financial data.

What is your opinion?
