Buffer overrun?
« on: November 23, 2003, 09:17:32 PM »
I have downloaded en installed the Avast software on my pc a few weeks ago. All the time it seems to work in the right way but now I constant get following message:

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
Buffer overrun detected!
Program: E:\AVAST\ASHPOPWZ.EXE
[with information:]
A buffer overrun has been detected which has corrupted the program's
internal state. The program cannot safely continue execution and must
now be terminated.
[OK-button]

Does anyone know what causes this problem and what to do to resolve it?

It's the 'Automatically Protect All Mail Accounts That I Create In The Future' feature. Please run the Mail Protection Wizard from the avast group in Start Menu, and make sure to uncheck this box.

BTW what OS are you using?

Thanks

The box 'Automatically Protect All Mail Accounts That I Create In The Future' was already unchecked. Never the less I hope that this problem is solved by running the Mail Protection Wizard again .
My OS is W98SE.

Thx.
