Avast Windows Startup Problems?
« on: June 03, 2015, 02:27:02 PM »
Dear Avast Community,

we have several installations under Avast Business Protection and noticed problems at the startup of windows.

Sometimes the windows start hangs on "Please wait" before login screen. Sometimes windows hangs after login at "Welcome".

The only solution which works is to start at "safe mode", uninstall Avast, reboot and install Avast again.

This is very frustrating...  :o Do someone have a solution to solve this problem permanently?

Thanks in advance
Lars Maschke

We are experiencing these same problems as well as 100% CPU on the management server.

Do you use roaming profiles? Did you try adding the "\\*" exception for all UNC shares into the File System Shield Exclusions?

Did you try enabling the "Load avast! services only after loading other system services" under Troubleshooting?

I am curious on this response... Did they tell you to switch to the cloud service from a Console based product (Endpoint Protection?).

This should not be the case, as as far as we have been made aware, there are no plans to discontinue the local non-cloud product.

Avast Team, can you clarify?

Anyone have any news about this problem? I also have this annoying problem randomly on my clients.

I'm moving my clients from avast Endpoint to the Avast for Business (cloud) free..

I can't believe that the last program update is from 07/05/2014!!
https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=149975.0

If Avast want to move the business program only to another platform (business cloud) just say it..

Ok thanks, I've tried successfully in past your hints, but this solve one problem .. but it can cause another type of problem if the clients get an infected mail!
My suggestion is to move from endpoint protection to the business cloud free

giogio,

yes that was also my opinion, but i have ask the avast support "che jonson" the solution is safe the mails are protected by the realtime scan.

The cloud option is no way for me! What is if one hack you account? And what is with the nsa ? It is better to send you data to the cloud ?.... !!
And the cloud has only 20% of that function that comes with the endpoint ....

So i hope Avast will release soon the update to the new version for Win 10 .... and if there is no solution i must maybe change the AV Software to a other company.

regards Zwergenmeister
