Exclusions
« on: October 28, 2015, 03:51:49 PM »
I've entered an exclusion, DAILY, for months now. Every day I have to add the thing again. Why does Avast "forget" my exclusions?  I don't want Avast scanning my operations software modules every time I open one of them.

Windows 7 pro. Avast Business 2015.10.2.2505

I am trying to exclude a subdirectory in my Program Files. It's a software that the company uses to manage EVERYTHING. Waiting for avast to screen the thing every time I open a module (EACH MODULE) is obnoxious as hell.  I've added the directory that contains the executables over a dozen times. Every day when I look in the morning, the exclusion is gone and avast starts scanning them all again.  The exclusion works for a few hours, then it gets forgotten.

Have you tried a reboot after adding?

After reboot is when it forgets.

Yes, I added the exclusion, rebooted and there, I find NOTHING in the exclusion list after reboot. Is there a friggin' text file I can put these in, mark as read-only and be done with it?  This is ridiculously aggravating.

Best I can figure, the portal's policy overrides my local exclusions. I set the exclusion in the portal and it seems to work.
