Secureline VPN connects via Salt Lake City, not London
« on: November 02, 2015, 01:38:56 AM »
I'm in the UK and have a BT Internet connection, with an IP address registered to BT in the UK, but when Secureline VPN connects me to the nearest server it keeps connecting me to a server in Salt Lake City in the US.

If I manually select London, it will connect to London, but the next time it automatically connects it will be to Salt Lake City.

Anybody got a any clues as to why this is happening?

Can you please connect to the optimal location again, check what's your Geo IP here: https://www.iplocation.net/ and share the result?
Thanks!

Geo IP shows as 81.133.160.140, all results indicate a UK location.

So that's probably the correct location.
Maybe the geo IP database was not up to date back then.
What about the location reported by the app, is it correct (UK, London)?

I am also in the UK and when I set Secureline to "optimal location" It always connects me to Poland, Helsinki or Paris. Why is this?

The optimal location is rather the location of the fastest server (network wise).
So some times it will not be the same as the closest location.
There are some things that can affect that, such as the WiFi you're connected to or your Internet Provider.
