Avast Uninstall Causes Windows 8 Reboot Loop
« on: November 01, 2015, 09:51:29 PM »
Hi all,

I attempted to uninstall the free version of Avast and I'm now stuck in a boot loop in Windows 8.1 Repair mode.  I have tried several fixes to no avail, and I'm trying to avoid having to reinstall Windows.  I have attached my FRST.txt in a desperate attempt to get someone to give me a fixlist.txt that might remedy the problem.  Please help!  Thanks in advance.

Is it possible there is a leftover task related to Avast that is preventing startup?  I attempted to make my own fixlist and removed some Avast items but I'm still unable to boot, repair, etc.  I have attached a fixlog that might help.

Thanks for your help!
