As a first time forum user, I'm not sure where to post this question, so please forgive if I've misdirected. We are using several Avast Free installs to protect an after school program computer lab. I want to consolidate device ownership from two Avast users down to one of those two users. Is there an easy way to transfer all devices listed under one account to the other account? I have access to both accounts, but haven't found a way to do that. I have to transfer about 20 machines. Thanks for any help you can provide.

Alan

It sounds like you probably would have been better using the Avast for Business product:

I have an UI glitch. While clicking on menu icons or double-clicking on some of them I see a gray rectagle appearing on the right side. Please see my screenshot below.
Is it a known issue?

You shouldn't have to double click them, most only have a single click action. If I double click on the Settings Icon (cog wheel) I get the settings window open and the second click results in a beep, but no closure. I just wonder if you had a notification popup behind the UI that is being closed on the double click resulting in a greyed out box, but I don't see that in my avast free.

That said, your layout for the expansion of the Scan screen seems strange as mine appear in columns positioned centrally, see attached image.

You could try an avast repair.

Well, I meant not actually double-clicking but rather "click and click" one after another not too fast :)
I installed only two scan modules and nothing more maybe this is why there is the layout difference.
Anyway, as far as I know for now it's fixed in new beta :)

Hi,
Updated to Avast 2016.
So far, so good.

Previous version let me configure the outdated software search. An outdated version of Nero can't be skipped??  :o

Does it not have Ignore Updates, for the program, as in my attached image ?

Try Refresh and see if that works.

I made what looks like a mistake,  & allowed the upgrade to the
free version of 11.1.2241 (free version)

The different scans are gone.  It does something called smart scan,
but I have no idea what it is doing, & what it finds.  It seems to hang
at the end when it finds a problem.

I can't schedule scans or do a boot time scan; at least there's no UI for that.

The tools only say that it will flag outdated software, but there's no separate
scan for that, & there's no indication of what it actually finds (see 1st item).
It just indicates something is wrong, & says it will fix it -but probably doesn't.

Can anything be done to fix this?
Is there a way to go back to v 10 safely?
If not, anyone running a good alternative free virus scan they'd recommend?

I had to log in thru the UI, then the rest of the scan options
appeared.  Strange, never had to do that before.
But the product seems functional now, so that's good.
