I got an email confirmation for ordering the premium version of Mobile Security this morning and I definitely did NOT do this.

I tried to use the web form to submit a ticket and it wouldn't accept the order ID, even though I DID put the info in (tried two different browsers in three different OS)  it says "field required" and highlight it in red.

This is the ID I got from the email:

AMS4-60fbf719-dbea-4222-a95b-29935541ad66

And I don't see other ways to contact by chat/phone etc.

None of this inspires confidence in the company. Please contact me.

It looks to me that the mail is not from avast but a rogue email created with Advance Mass Sender version 4

Make sure no money is taken from your bank account, credit card and such.

My concern is it DID upgrade my Mobile Security to the premium version!!!

If that didn't happen I would think they bought it for themselves or.. I don't get it, someone hacked a freebie for me!?

I didn't see money taken out but.. You can understand my concern that something was changed in my security software when I didn't do it, even if it is to get the premium one!

kramyugtaht :
Since this is about avast mobile, you posted in the wrong forum.
Hence why I was thinking ams4 could stand for Advance Mass Sender version 4

Upgrading to premium doesn't happen automatically (or at least it shouldn't)
Someone must tell it to do so.

Check the license status in the tool itself and on https://my.avast.com
What does the info tells you ? (licensed, trial or....)

Sorry I was not aware there is a mobile forum.

As I said I did check the app and it shows the green Premium on the upper corner.

I am not able to connect to my Avast account via any of the three methods or register an account. Logging in via Google should work as I am able to do that on the desktop.

Is my copy of Avast compromised?

And when I log in to the account on the Desktop it does not list my phone as a secured device.

Okay I have uninstalled and  reinstalled the free one as I should have and I have been able to connect to my Avast account. It does make me a bit uneasy as you can imagine, I don't know if connecting to the account helps secure things any more. I think I will run a full scan with Malwarebytes..

Just trying to understand the logic of this, if it is a hack of some sort are they trying to show up Avast by switching it to Premium, and did it have something to do with the account not being connected?

I take it that order confirmation ID is not a legitimate one.

EDIT: And no it did not list that license.

Hi,

By mistake we sent a confirmation of purchase rather than a notice about the new Avast Mobile Security 5. Sorry about that :)
Don't worry, you were not charged for any order.

Thanks for clarifying this moroni.
I already saw multiple posts about this.

Is avast gonna send a mail to these users explaining it was a mistake or let them know in a other way about it ?
