Hi,
I am not a moderator, just another person who had what you have.  I bought a brand new machine with Windows 10 on it.  First boot, I got that thing from Avast, which I found strange as Avast had not been loaded onto the computer by me.  Then I realized that Avast had a app installed on my machine. It did exactly what you said yours did.  When I clicked the box to stop trying to sell me something, the popups just got worse.  I went to settings, I think, and just removed the app.  As far as I am concerned, this was bloatware, courtesy of Avast.  I was using Avast since 2004, but this was too much for me.  I have switched to Panda.  Much lighter on the system and it gets very good reviews.

Thanks Greg.  I'm where you are here.  Just checked the URL from ASYN and it appears to be the result of a search for SecureLine VPN which I of course could do without help from the experts here.

I liked Avast 'til now, but if I can't remove the popups occurring every half hour or so, I'll uninstall and try another program.  I'll look into Panda.

Thanks

Go to control panel > programmes and features
Select Avast
Select change
In the middle column remove the tick from secure line
Continue and reboot when completed

Thanks, but that doesn't work.  Ticked and rebooted.  Still getting popups.

With all due respect,"submitting a ticket" is not the answer here.  I purchased a BRAND NEW computer with Windows .  Upon the first boot, I that AVAST had an app PRE-INSTALLED for your VPN product.  The app is nothing more than bloatware, constantly telling you to buy it no matter what box you click.  The only way out is to uninstall the Pre-Installed BLOATWARE by Avast.

Yes.  Gotta agree (unfortunately).  I submitted a ticket, was asked to update to most recent build (a beta) which I did.  I continue to get the popup.

Thanks for your courteous and accurate reply.
