« on: November 04, 2015, 11:21:43 AM »
Avast Internet version 11.1.2241.

When i do a Network scan says completed okay but still says scan running on Telstra Gateway.

This happens both on Windows 7 64 bit and vista 32 bit

Strange I reported this in earlier betas and this was supposedly fixed.

Just running that scan now and I notice that (one it is slow) it is back in the Network Scan. Yet running a Smart Scan which includes the Network Threats it completes without issue. Presumably the stand alone Network Scan differs or is more detailed.

Hello
I am having this problem with Network Threat Scan too. I am running the Smart Scan and it has been stuck on the Network stage at 43% for ages and won't move. It cannot perform the stand alone Network scan at all in the Scan section. This has only happened after updating my Avast Premier today.
Can anyone point me in the direction of solving this problem.
Many thanks in advance.

I'm not seeing this problem when using the Smart Scan only when running the Scan for network threats in isolation.

Considering the time taken to run the Scan for network threats in isolation is quite long, the Smart Scan is relatively quick.

Personally I would suggest just using the Smart Scan. I believe the only solution would be in the hands of the avast team.

Thanks David but mine won't even move forward in the Smart Scan, it is just stuck at Network Threat. I am trying the stand alone Network threat now which appears to be taking forever to just reach around 3%. I think I will abandon doing Network threat scans until this is fixed.

How did you install the latest version 11.1.2241 ?
If from the Program Update in the avastUI - try an avast Repair - if that doesn't resolve it try a clean reinstall of 11.1.2241. Get the off-line installer here https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=178580.0 for whatever avast program you are using.

I just updated as normal but will try out your suggestions. One shouldn't have to mess around with it like this though each time there is an update. I paid for Premium thinking it would be better than most. Never mind I guess everything has its glitches. I will let you know how I get on and thanks for your suggestions they are appreciated.

Well I did a clean uninstall in safe mode and downloaded Premier from the link you gave David and it has not made any difference whatsoever. Still stalling on the Smart Scan when it reaches Network Threats and I cannot perform a Network Threat Scan from the Scans menu.
Don't know what else to do so any further suggestions would really help.

Hi guys, can you please post a version of the virus database (VPS) from the settings/update page? Home Network security scan is partly in the programme and partly in the VPS - so it really does matter what version of the VPS you all are running.

Thanks a lot,
L.

Mine is currently 151104-0 what it was 7 hours ago I can't say.

But I have just run it again and whilst it reports your home network is secure it also shows Scan running...

This is the same device that this scan running is reported.

The Smart Scan not only completes, it report all OK (Check marks) and is overall quicker than the individual home network scan.

EDIT: Manually updated the VPS now 151104-1 no difference in Home network security scan one device still reports 'Scan running...'

Hi Lukor
I am not sure what VPS means but following on from what David has typed mine actually says 151104-1
Hope this is what you meant?

It is the virus definitions number, this is a very Historic abbreviation for the virus definitions database (My best guess was Virus Pattern Signatures, could well be wrong).

Hello Lukor
Any further information on this problem? I am currently on 151107-0 and the smart scan is still hanging when it reaches the network threats part. It sits at 43% and won't move forward at all.

I am using the latest version of avast 2016.
