DNS Virus - Access to Only Google.com
« on: November 08, 2015, 01:43:34 PM »
Hello Anyone!

I have battled a virus that infects my DNS registry. I can only access google.com or yahoo.com. I am not able to visit any other website using any of the browsers. Other forums indicated this may be a malware virus but I have Avast! I did a full scan and found no errors. The temporary fix is by accessing command prompt and inserting these commands: netsh winsock reset catalog and netsh int ip reset rest.log hit. When I reboot the DNS problem reoccurs. Where should I be looking? Why hasn't Avast found, isolate, and delete this virus?

Thank you for any help or suggestions!
Shawn

anti malware software that can detect all malware/problems does not exist.
