Avast started detecting & blocking a file it identifies as harmful today when I go to Netflix, thus I can no longer use my Netflix account. I really don't want to uninstall Avast & go back to AVG. But unless Avast resolves this issue quickly I will be left with no choice.

Unless you love to receive a lot of spam, it is not a smart idea to post your email on a public webboard.
And as Pondus said, without any information there is nothing that can be done to solve the problem.
