running antivirus email password vs username password
« on: November 17, 2015, 03:22:08 PM »
Hi - I ran a scan and have a few viruses.  It asked me if I wanted to delete them and came up with a box that had "Alicia P---" on top then I could tab to password.  That password is evidently not the same password as the password I use to log into to my Avast profile when I use my email address because I cannot remember it, therefor cannot delete those viruses.  Would it be the same as my Apple password?  Thanks!

It sounds like you have password protected the avast program settings ?
To stop people making changes to your avast settings.

If so and you try to make changes to that installation (and this may include actions after a scan) that would require you enter the avast program settings password.

You mention "Apple password" are you using the avast for Mac antivirus program ?
