[Urgent] Need site unbocked
« on: November 20, 2015, 10:33:55 PM »
I need to find out how to get a site unblocked by Avast. I have people who cannot access the site at http://parentstoolshop.com because it is being blocked by Avast.  I have checked with WPEngie the hose and they say it is clean, I have had Sucuri do a scan on it, and Avast says:

The new virus definition is not flagging the website you submitted. I'd recommend updating Avast virus definitions and the program version.
Open Avast and go to > SETTINGS > Update
a) Virus Definition -> click 'Update'
b) Program -> click 'Update'

Virus FAQs
Avast  Clean Guidelines: https://www.avast.com/faq.php?article=AVKB228
Avast File Whitelisting: https://www.avast.com/en-us/faq.php?article=AVKB229

Kind regards,
Rojan Piya

We started a holiday giveaway today and have complaints from people using Avast (none from anyone else, BTW) who are blocked completely from the site.

Thanks for your help, not looking to start a flame war, just trying to get a client's site available.

If still blocked after a update, reboot and try again

Thank you for your responses, but I need to know who to contact to get this unblocked.

WPEngine says it's not infected
Sucuri says it's not infected
Your support says it's not infected

The url you referred me to discussing the site in question discusses that the site was shown as infected with a Joomla redirect in October (last month). That cannot be the case as it has never had Joomla on it and the host is a dedicated WordPress host. The person complaining about the site says she updates her definitions several times a day and Avast still shows it as blocked.

Hi,
I am unblocking parentstoolshop.com now, because I do not see any malicious traffic.
Please do keep in mind that it was infected, and if it hasn't been properly sanitized, the infection might pop up again in the future.

There was no need to start a new thread about this.
https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=178076.0

avast didn't say there was a problem with the website.
It says the IP is blocked.

There still are problems (on the ASN):

I suggest you contact the host and tell them to solve the problems.

The block was there because you don't use a dedicated server.
That means many domains will be on the same IP.
If one is malicious a IP block will also block your domain.
You won't have this problem if you use a dedicated server.
