Alert about old version of AVG when repairing avast2015

I have the commonly reported instup.exe slow down issue so did a repair. At the end of the process an alert pops up warning of an older installation of AVG (2012). AVG was removed following instructions found here a while back and there are no options to uninstall it anymore. Tips on how to clean it out would be appreciated.

Remove AVG and avast completely (through control panel and after that use the tools) :
