100% CPU usage
« on: December 07, 2015, 06:47:04 PM »
I just upgraded to Avast 11.1.2245 and now it uses 100% CPU usage making the system worthless.  According to Task Manager te AvastSvc.exe is the culprit.  All the systems using the previous version don't have the problem, and it persists even with all shields deactive.

The systems are Windows XP and Windows 7

What SP's are on those systems ?

Already performed a repair of avast ?
Already performed a clean installation of avast ?
Any other security (related) software installed ? (or was there)

All the updates are installed, so it's running SP3 a repair or clean install gives the same problem.  No other security software has ever been installed on these systems.  The system is nothing more than a file server so it's a minimum XP installation with Avast.

Okay, I used the AvastCleaner to uninstall, then did a fresh install, and now the system is back to normal!!  Yeah!!

Thanks to that little trick, I can now go fix the other system.
