Avast will not load
« on: December 04, 2015, 09:46:52 AM »
I have renewed my subscription but remain "unprotected". My payment has been acknowledged and I have received a Licence Number and Password but when I apply the download I get a message after a few seconds stating "unknown software exception OxcO6d007e followed by "location ox75910192" and I remain 'unprotected'. I have tried to contact AVAST but have found this to be impossible. I have a receipt for the payment. I have avast on the computer I am using now but this is on my other PC. Can anyone help?

My existing AV was Avast and I received a message saying that it was due for renewal. I followed the instructions, paid for the renewal and received a 'download - activation'. I clicked on the section to 'activate' my account but after a few seconds I got the message quoted in my op. It won't download.

Hi TigerRoo. Every laptop and computer comes with a pre-installed 30 day trail version of an antivirus software such as McAfee, Norton, and etc. After uninstalling one of these antivirus software prior to avast you should have used it's uninstall utility after uninstalling it via add/remove.
DELL Inspiron 15" 7000 Gaming, Windows 10 Home Version 21H1 (OS Build 19043.1237), Trend Micro Maximum Security 2021 (17.0.1333), Avast SecureLine VPN (5.12.5655), Windows Firewall, Unchecky 1.2

Sorry fellows, I am a 77 year old 'wrinkly'. I have Avast on my main PC. I have Avast on my Second PC which is supposed to be on an automatic renewal. It tells me that I am renewed until November next year but on the icon on my desk top (and when I click on it) there is a message telling me that I am not protected. My payment has gone through, has been accepted and paid but when I try to download the renewal it starts OK but after a few seconds I get this message (see opening post) and when I click OK it just disappears taking the download away.
I have  a local 'Geek' coming in next week and will get him to sort it for me and will report back to this forum as to what the problem was.

1. Download Avast Premier Antivirus: https://files.avast.com/iavs9x/avast_premier_antivirus_setup.exe
2. Follow instructions: https://www.avast.com/uninstall-utility (Run this tool for all prior installed Avast versions..!!)
3. Reinstall Avast with the downloaded installer from point 1.
4. Reboot.

Looks like it is time to have a look at Farbar log files.
