Automatic renewal
« on: January 10, 2015, 06:19:26 PM »
I was sent an email from Avast telling me that after i had paid 14 dollars on a special renewal they would set me up for automatic renewal. My problem is they did not say how much they would charge me one year from now. I think that is a bad business practice. Any other company like Amazon which offers automatic renewals informs me how much they will debit my account. I use Amazon prime which had a price increase but they told me months ahead of time how much the price would come too. Avast should consider this.

They don't do that - why I don't know - however, come renewal time there is normally some sort of renewal discount. So this would be a variable.

You should be able to change the automatic renewal function depending on your payment method.

I very much doubt that email came from avast. Automatic renewal is by default enabled at your first order so there is no need to set it up.

It is not possible to do so especially when you are using another currency then the Czech koruna. It has to do with exchange rates and no one in the world even knows the exchange rate it will be tomorrow.

How can automatic renewal occur if any of your credit or debit card information has changed in the past year?

Credit cards can be weird, I had some debits set up on my previous card and the payment went through on my renewed card - this however, was unrelated to avast.

If you have auto renewal enabled then an attempt will be made to get payment - if the card number has change and your credit card payment went through on a renewed card that would have to be taken up with your credit card company.

contact us at support.avast.com if you need a help.

It may happen that expired or cancelled CC is charged. It sounds weird but it's possible in some cases...
Quality is also a feature.
