I haven't received any virus definition updates since August 25.  The latest one is 160829-1.  I've tried to update manually but it shows already up to date.

Have you tried an avast repair yet ?
- this has frequently resolved out of sync data on what is displayed and what you actually have.

I'll do a repair now and manually check Virus Definitions.

You shouldn't need to manually check Virus Definitions, if the repair does its stuff, reboot. Then you should see what VPS you already have should be correct.

Have you looked here - https://www.avast.com/virus-update-history - as yours (which is the same as mine, I rarely bother checking it) isn't far of what is the latest version. Not to mention that 160829-1 isn't even listed in the virus update history page.

Just look at your streaming update folders you should still be pretty much up to date.

I am still at VPS 160829-1 on all 3 Windows 7 laptops.  Streaming updates are current with the latest folder being 16083102.  The VPS servers are out of sync, and Avast server administrators need to fix them.

Correct, I have the same issue on two Windows 10 laptops. Streaming updates are up to date.
