Virus infected my Avast Antivirus Pro
« on: November 25, 2015, 10:08:38 PM »
-My Avast anti-virus is acting as if it's been infected.
-My toolbar icon shows orange avast with Red X.
-When I try to log into my account from the Avast User Interface, it allows me to log in, then takes a few minutes to load. I see my account in the background, showing my license is up to date; however, message displays "Your Device Has Been Disconnected from Your Account, Please Sign in Again"
- I cannot access the Internet even though I am connected to wifi
- Someone downloaded "iFunbox"
-So far this is the only program that I can't uninstall or delete from my hard drive
-When I try to delete it it say "cannot delete because a related file is open" however nothing is open
-I've already seen the posts "Add this Device to Your Account" this isn't that
-Under Settings, when I choose "Update", error message shows "Avast Service Is Not Running."
- When I click on overview it shows the green header saying "You are protected" but it also shows "Sign in" as if my account isn't actually protected.
- I click on "sign in" and it does the whole process over again with the "device not connected"
-Went to "Settings", then Update. Virus Definitions show up to date
-"Program" showed new release. Clicked update. Gets to step 2 and it stops updating
- Avast icon in taskbar goes back and forth from working to disabled
-Under My Control Panel > System & Security > Action Center I have an alert for "Anti-virus Protection (Important) avast! Antivirus reports that it is turned off.
-Gives me option to "Turn on Now"
-When I Select it I get pop up "Do You Want to Run This Program? You Should ONly Run Programs from Publishers You Trust"
-Shows Publisher as: AVAST Software a.s.
-Program C:\Program Files\AVAST Software\Avast\VisthAux.exe
-I choose Yes, I trust this publisher and want to run this program
-Nothing happens, computer is still slow, I still can't access the Internet.

Please Help! I feel it's this "iFunbox" doing this and keeping Avast from running so it can continue to do whatever it is trying to do un-noticed in the background
-I purchased this upgrade from the free version in June so I really need it
-I cannot access the Internet on my laptop. I'm submitting this from my phone so I don't know how I would attach files

Laptop is a Dell Inspiron N5010

Thank you!

I do have an iPhone. I see the iFunbox on my PC as well. Would it be on my phone somewhere to delete it?

What OS/SP ?
What exact version of avast ?
Any other security (related) software installed ? (or was there)
Already performed a repair of avast ?
Already performed a clean installation of the latest avast ?

-OS: Windows 7
-SP: I can't remember if I downloaded the SP1 so I'm not sure if it's there.
-Avast Pro-Virus 2015
-System Mechanic was on there previously, I uninstalled it, but it is there again. Not sure how it got on there again. This is a personal laptop so someone else in my home (kids) could of clicked OK if prompted to update System Mechanic
-Could not perform a repair. It would run and nothing would happen.
-I was able to update to the latest Avast version BUT it took a long time. If I click on anything it takes 3-5 minutes to open. So, with patience, I was able to finally get to where I could click update. It ran and then prompted me to restart
-After that, same problem occurred as originally posted. Avast not on, then shows on but device is not connected, etc
