Troubleshooting AvastSvc process
« on: December 16, 2015, 07:24:51 AM »
I have some large data for mounting and AvastSvc is not stopping to access these data, which hinders me from working. I have so suspend the process every time I want to mount my data, even though I have added it in every exception list in avast.

If there is no way around this, I probably will have to look for other AV software that doesn't conflict with mounting my things.

Any way to fix this? Or any other tips?

There is always a reason for Avast to poke stuff around, it's an AV.

You can try to add the mount point to the exceptions.

I added it to all exceptions already, still the process AvastSvc is continuously reading the file, or what do you mean exactly.
And also, the process continues reading even after stopping Avast and when I terminate the process in the task manager it restarts after a few seconds.

Also I wonder, why it never was a problem before. It seems that the process is continuously reading the file for a span of many hours, which is very weird behavior.
