That is not the avast homepage.
The avast homepage is https://www.avast.com

VirusTotal does not scan websites/webpages as clearly mentioned on their website and has been told many time here and on other places.

You can download the latest online installer through :
https://www.avast.com

The full installer(s) can be downloaded from here :

I know what the avast homepage is and how to get there, Eddy, otherwise I wouldn't be here. When I go to the homepage and click "free download" however, avast decides to redirect me to cnet for the installer. This doesn't seem to happen on firefox though, only google chrome for me. I just tried on firefox and still got a warning from avast on the homepage as well.

Why can't the homepage be more simplistic and have just one source for the installer? Why does it have to redirect me to cnet at all?

Umm no, actually my system is clean I run malwarebytes scans on a weekly basis and all is good. It has nothing to do with my computer, the website is triggering a false positive when I go to download which goes straight to the virus chest. And the redirects to cnet is regular behavior of the homepage as per this avast install tutorial video. https://youtu.be/A9O0zYv-5d0

I get it probably doesn't have high priority on the to-do list but fixing these things would make the website better to navigate.
