avldrGetDifinitionsFolder(): Invalid argument
« on: December 21, 2015, 01:46:59 PM »
I'm using CenOS7.1.
And I'm having trouble with installing Avast Security Suite for linux.

I installed avast-rhel-2.1.0-1.x86_64.rpm
and
Copy the license file to the "/etc/avast" directory.

But avast service not starts.
"avldrGetDifinitionsFolder(): Invalid argument"

Where is the problem?

Do you have the virus definitions in /var/lib/avast/defs? They are downloaded during
the installation, if you are not online at that time, Avast won't work until you download
them using the /var/lib/avast/Setup/avast.vpsupdate script.

I installed from rpm online.
But It didn't make /var/lib/avast/defs folder.
I tried different CenOS7.1 server, but the same  problem.
Avast Security Suite for linux is support  CenOS7.1?

What should I try next?

Ok, I was just asking because I wasn't sure you did.
I leave it to Tumic to help you further with this matter.

The VPS update script uses curl and runs under the "avast" user by default. To debug the problem, try it wit curl as the "avast" used.
