Forgotten console Password
« on: December 21, 2015, 05:30:41 PM »
Running Win10 and when I go to command prompt and enter “C:\Program Files\AVAST Software\Administration Console\Avast.Sbc.Service.exe” –c password -p NewPassword, I get the message-the system cannot find the path specified.
When I find Avast Software\ tree there is no Administration Console\ showing so i can't continue.
Does anyone have any ideas where i am going wrong in trying to reset a forgotten password

What exact version of avast are you using ?

It seems that you are not using a consumer version.
If that is so, please post in the correct forum.

Don't know about a consumer version, all I know is that I have been using this for about 2 odd years and no problem.
The current prog. version is --10.3.2225 dated 28/7/15 and if I try to find out more I get the need password box again!
As for posting in the correct forum please indicate just where I should post it, thanks.

SBC = Small Business Console
A very clear indication that it is not a consumer product, but a business product.

Anyway,

how to reset/set the password depends on what you are using.
The SOA or the EA.
