There was a new VPS we received today 160211-1 and it's not upgrading the "aswvmm.sys" to the version "10.1.1606.516". Is it like the micro update is only available with VPS 160210-0? Please let us know.

Hi robr3004, did you install the latest VPS 160211-1? Yesterday, I installed VPS 160210-0 on couple of computers and it changed the version of aswvmm.sys but today when some other computers got the latest VPS, it didn't upgrade the aswvmm.sys. So we're back to zero again, I guess!

So far, one of the PC's was updated yesterday to 160210-0 and the driver file was NOT updated. The 2 other PC's we updated today were updated to 160211-1 and the drivers were NOT updated as well.   :o

Did you restart the PC after installing the VPS?

We would rather have new version with driver in it to create package to deploy, than this VPS mumbo jumbo.

Yeah and don't forget this one: https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=180431.0
We cannot update from console because users are scared that they are not protected. I will not disable this warnings, sometimes they are useful.

Hi IT-KAV, are you planning to create one or are you waiting for Avast to release one Program update with the patch built in to it?

I have four Win8.1 machines with this error.  Three are updated to 160212-0 and one is at 160211-1.  All have been restarted.  All of the aswvmm.sys files are still dated 12/8/15.

It looks like the aswvmm.sys was upgraded only with VPS 160210-0.

This is what I'm going to do now on Windows 8.1 boxes getting the BSOD because of corrupt "aswvmm.sys":

Replace any older "aswvmm.sys" exisiting on the system with a copy of the newer (patched) "aswvmm.sys" at this locations on the system:

C:\Program Files\AVAST Software\Avast Business\Setup\INF (for 32-bit systems)
C:\Program Files\AVAST Software\Avast Business\Setup\INF\x64 (for 64-bit systems)
C:\Windows\System32\drivers\ (for both 32 and 64 bit systems)

I'll keep you posted with updates.

Where did you get the updated version?  All the ones I can find are 10.1.1606.511 dated 12/8/15

As soon as avast released the vps 160210-0, I applied it on few Windows 8.1 boxes and it worked and upgraded the "aswvmm.sys" file on those boxes. I just copied the modified/upgraded file just in case. It never worked on any computers as soon as vps 160211-1 and so on became available. FYI, after replacing the old "aswvmm.sys" with the new one, the affected systems have not crashed yet. My fingers are crossed now. I'll keep you posted.

Hi,
I'm waiting for them. There is no way I can update through console until security center bug isn't sorted. New version with updated driver could be a pleasant bonus.

Any update on this. All the machines we update only have the "10.1.1606.511" version of aswvmm.sys. I don't see the "10.1.1606.516" version on any of our machines. Can someone confirm we should see "10.1.1606.516" as the correct file?
