Avast Malware attack
« on: February 16, 2016, 07:21:19 PM »
Now this seems to be unreal but I just got an an attack of Malware, apparently from Avast. From the Avast icon in the lower right corner, I got a request to scan my root files "before system loads"  I fall for it and the screen shows a screen, file names rolling on the display.  After 10 minutes I choose the end the screen via the esc key.

I get 5 or so major displays taking over my computer.  One is System Healer offers various security solutions.  Another is a message that Yahoo is out of date and needs to be replaced by chrome: also Yahoo, not my google is my search engine. screens were difficult to close because the close button was hidden. The toughest to get rid of was 360 Total security.  It took several passes to get it out.  I got messages from Avast that there were 25 more files to find. Strangely, there was a  questionnaire why I was quiting, like a real program.

I hope I got everything out.
