Software Updater just gave me a scare right now.
« on: December 17, 2015, 02:48:41 PM »
I want to know if this is normal or happened to anyone else.

Got message from avast saying some software was outdated and needed update, usually skype
Checked,it was indeed skype.
Clicked update,go surf the web, check on update progress, just turned to "installing",go back to web.
Suddenly Avast gives me the message that a program is trying to shutdown shields..clicked "no" of course.
Immediately after clicking "no" PC begins to close everything and restarts...
I Immediately think:  great i think i just got malware or rootkit.

After restart browser restores the way it was,i check to see what was up and Skype seems like was uninstall, check the processes,no "new" process running, seems everything is ok but i will run malwarebytes just to be sure.

this happened to anyone else?

Edit: Malwarebytes scan is clean.

Software Updater does nothing like disabling shields or shutting down the PC. This sounds more like some malware on your system...
