I would be really grateful if someone could suggest the reason why script scanning causes some pages to become unresponsive or hang.
Here is an example;
http://velogps.com/Opened in Firefox, CPU usage peaks briefly then returns to normal. In IE11, the site causes IE to become unresponsive - CPU use rockets, tray icon rotates constantly. Disabling script scanning in IE in Avast!UI and the site loads normally, not even a blip on CPU usage.
Neither browser has any add-ons installed. MBAM scans show machine is clear of malware and Avast! Smart Scan indicates no issues. Firstly, I'd be grateful if anyone could confirm whether this is an issue for me or it is replicated on this particular site for others.
There are many instances of other sites where the machine slows to a crawl on access and I suspect the script scanner. I'd be pleased to get to the bottom of this as it's making me doubt whether Avast! is the best option for AV. AV should be as light and inobtrusive as possible whilst providing protection.
Thank you in advance for any responses.
