Log Error Meanings
« on: December 19, 2005, 12:15:19 AM »
Hi
I'm chasing a quite nasty something that has infected IE (or is pretending to be IE).
A boot scan gives the following log.  Please could anyone explain the errors, especially the Internal Program error?

I'm quite sure this is not related to an infection.
Did you check scanning of archives for the boot-time scan? Do the same errors appear every time you run it?

Thank you Igor:
1 scanning archives is checked
2 2/2 (it takes quite a time)
3 The latest DB update resulted in 16 off Trojano-3146 which seems to have fixed the basic problem

If the errors still show in the log (you can try to run a boot-time scan on the windows folder only, for example), can you please upload some of those files (especially the MODHELP.dll) to ftp://ftp.asw.cz/incoming ?
Thanks.

These files all have CRC errors.  worrying in itself but that means that I have no ready way of uploading them.
Data error is a reasonable error message in the circumstances but I don't understand why there should be a program error in the case of MODHELP.dll
