Add Remove Programs
« on: December 21, 2005, 12:26:00 AM »
I need an Add Remove program, and would like it free! I downloaded Add Remove Master, but after 30 days have to pay, today I found Add Remove Pro and it is free. Is it as good or is there another free one out there that is better?

3rd party uninstallers are more advertisement that a real thing.
Use Windows Control Panel and, if you need, a specific uninstaller for the program you're trying to remove.
Oh, if you want, a good Registry Cleaner  ;)

When I uninstalled Norton AV (before dowloading Avast) the Norton WMI Update would not go off the Windows/Add-Remove. A tech had installed Add-Remove Master on my computer quite awhile ago, and that would usually work if something would stay on the Add/Remove. But I uninstalled it, thinking I would download the newer version, but found out it was only good for 30 days then they wanted $$. I would still like an answer, if anyone knows which is better. Add-Remove Master or Ad-Remove Pro. Surely someone out there knows!

Try CCleaner for a fool proof registry cleaner.

Hi Susz
That's because the registry isn't meant to be edited by novices.
One wrong move and there goes your operating system.
The best advice is never tamper with the registry unless you have a back-up and a way to get to that back-up
if something goes wrong.

Good advice......just wondered how much rubbish I have in there, and if there was an easy way to clear it, rather than let it get any worse...... :)

Hi Susz,

Have you tried TuneUp Utilities 2006? It has a free working trial for a month.

The program allows you to restore any changes you make, although it's never caused me any problems.

MaDonna,

Microsoft have a free utilitity for cleaning up Add/Remove entries:
