Hi Rejzor, and what aboud disks? SSDs on laptop or desktop?

Laptop has SSD, but it's so stupendously slow due to crappy CPU it just makes no sense.

PC on the other hand has a speedy 2TB 7200RPM HDD with a M.2 AHCI SSD cache (using PrimoCache software). Essentially what I have is SSHD.

I did notice that Windows Resource Monitor doesn't show any Read activity (it's just blank) for disk. It doesn't list apps and how much disk reading they are doing. Could this be the reason why avast! thinks my disk is too slow and refuses to activate Secure Virtual Machines? Apparently has something to do with how PrimoCache hooks in between HDD and SSD to form a SSHD "array".

Why can't we just have a damn override for this thing so I can manually enable it and be done with it forever? I'm tired of this thing disabling itself because its detection mechanism seems wonky or doesn't predict scenarios like I have.

They've fixed this long ago and apparently broke it again. And it used to work just fine on my HDD.

Well just got my newer Asus Desktop, AMD 8 Core system, so due to seal (warranty stickers on the side) not planning to do any hardware upgrades for a year--but January 2017 I so plan to add SSD drive, and convert this current 2tb main hard drive to Data only drive.   Will be very first SSD into any PC then

Avast running well though, and everything else with this newer system

No. Few months ago it was very fast HDD or SSD. Then they just silently flipped it without telling to anyone. My HDD does random 4K at 3MB/s. Not SSD level but plenty fast. NG always worked perfectly fine on my old system. This new one is even faster and I can't use NG. It's just silly.

Just to add a bit to the above comment, everyone who installs the  beta build gets a 7-day trial license for SecureLine.  Would be great if you can try connecting to various locations and share your feedback.  The old method of using OpenVPN sometimes led to connection setup taking about 12-15 seconds.  New method should cut that in half.

thanks,

Davidek

How is this "Improvement" realized in the Stand Alone Version?
I have not received any update to my Secureline installation

Can I get a straight answer about NG already? At first it worked on everything, then they made it to run only on fastest HDD's (which I have) and then they broke it again and now they don't even want to answer it. And I had avast! installed on my system for half a year thinking I had NG working where in fact it was just gone because someone decided my system all of a sudden isn't fast enough anymore...

There certainly needs to be a specification (system requirement) published somewhere, preferably in the forums (possibly a sticky) or in the avast help function. That way there is no confusion as there is right now and for some considerable time.

Or just adding a bloody switch with a disclaimer so you can force enable it on your own. I know my system can handle it, I want to use the darn thing. Not being defined by an algorithm tuned to serve Average Joe's crappy computers.
