After internal update from Avast Free Antivirus v11.1.2245.1540 to the new version, I get a blue screen at start up. I had to restore a system restore point.

After that I updated avast again, but same problem.

I use Windows 10 Home x64, latest version. I'm back to previous avast version (11.1.2245.1540) till this problem is fixed.

NG installed on this machine, but not sure if it's running, or if theres something hidden in my Asus Bios to enable to get it to work
There is a bug in avast setup which unfortunately won't install NG on Win10 (at least on Win10 10568, not sure with old 10240 build).

Oh cmon, seriously? I was just about to re-install avast! because of NG and now this? *sigh* So, if I have Windows 10, even if I check Secure VM, it won't get installed?

@RejZoR I guess Avast is trying to resolve this issue and they might be busy picking their at the same time solving  NG for W10 as quickly as possible, and go and watch a movie

I seems like they don't realize Windows 10 is the current actual operating system. One would expect a proper support. Who cares about Windows 7 or 8.x at this point. Windows 10 is the future whether people like it or not. It should be a priority because of that.

So, is NG working or not? I could select it during installation and I do see avastVirtualBox Interface among processes. Are you saying I see this, but NG is not really working in my case? I'm using Windows 10 64bit TH2 (fully updated, obviously).

It seems like avast! doesn't even do proper DeepScreening. Tried two of my custom apps and they both finished "analyzing" in 1 second. Which is VERY unusual.

I got a similar problem, updating from 11.1.2245 to 11.1.2253 on Windows 7 Pro SP1 64-bit:

Parameter 4 : 00000000`00051136
Caused By Driver : hal.dll

Rerolling via system restore to the old avast version (nothing else changed) fixed the problem.

We hope you enjoy the new version!
AVAST Team

Is this update going to give me the same features and a usable UI?
After the dirty trick pulled on avast mobile users, I am reluctant to apply this update.
Have been a paying user of avast pro for probably more than 10 years, always recommended avast to others, made all my relatives who relied on me for PC support purchase pro as well, so I was confident they were staying clean.
The mobile avast experience has left me feeling let down badly, is the PC app going the same way?  Am I going to end up with just another advertising display app regardless of my paid subscription?

Latest update keeps crashing my machine at restart or shutdown. Running windows 10 x64. I've been able to replicate the problem. After removing avast windows goes back to normal. This also happens after fresh install. Running only the basic addons file, web, mail shields, and browser protection, network protection.
