Yes the animation of the systray icon is now disabled by default. It can be turned on via Settings.

Why ??? Was it using too many resources ???

Seems like much of what was unique to avast is being disabled add this to, no more update notification voice.

+1.

I miss the update notification sounds - they could make an option for it and leave it disabled by default...

I've had sounds and spinning icon disabled since forever. Same can also be found in my custom config. The reason for this is that while it may be unique, it's also INCREDIBLY distracting. You can't really do anything productive on such system because the damn thing is constantly spinning down there.

Thank you for that.   Noted when doing an upgrade, with no settings changes, animation remains enabled.  I'd wager a clean install will result in default systray icon not animating, so that would explain why some see this and some don't.

Avast SafeZone Browser now works as it should, automatically entering PayMode on specified websites.  Apparently the new security fix for Avastium is the good fix for this issue, why it was not found earlier is beyond me?  I even had a dialog box pop up stating that the PayMode feature would be disabled for a site reached a while back, due to an unspecified conflict.  And it was, for awhile, until I repaired the installation.  Reason for this webboard is to let avast devs know about relevant issues directly from consumers, but seems not enough are active to catch these things as they arise.

Still have issues running Home Network Security and Statistics windows unless user logoff is used.

As virtualization is not supported by the system cpu, not an issue for me.  DeepScreen works as it should, taking several seconds to run to completion.

I have updated my av program and notice the boot up time has increased which is slower than previous version. 11.2253 something,  Please somehow increase the boot up time and I have tried unchecking the "Load after services" which made no difference.

In addition I am getting this "warning" from event viewer.

1 user registry handles leaked from \Registry\User\: Process 1616 (\Device\HarddiskVolume3\Program Files\AVAST Software\Avast\AvastSvc.exe) has opened key \REGISTRY\USER\

is this normal or what should I do as it also appeared in the previous version which I thought it would fix this problem.

Hello

After the update, avast went to trial mode, i´ve asked for the free license code, they sent me one, but im not able to put it on the box, i think the license they sent me is for avast 2015, the code is to big for the space.
And when i go to my account it says that there´s no license available for the device im using. Do i have to wait to trial mode to expire before i can register?
Before the update my license was good.

I don't know how you got into trial mode - possibly clicking the wrong button on the program update - there is a screen that opens and you have two Update buttons. The one on the left just updates the free version, the one on the Right takes you to a trial version of Avast Internet Security, see attached image, click to expand.

If that is what has happened then it should be showing you have Avast Internet Security trial installed on the title of the Avast UI.

What to do there should be somewhere in the settings to Revert to the free version. If you can't find it, use the Control Panel > Programs & Features > Avast Antivirus > Uninstall - this should offer going back to the free version.

Unfortunately the Go Back function isn't there any more. What does work is to download the free version,
Disconnect from the internet, uninstall the paid version through Control Panel > Program and Features.
Reboot, Install the free version already downloaded and register it. Once done, it's safe to go back on-line.

@  bob3160

Thanks Bob, it is a shame that the revert to avast free in the trial version is no longer an option, that really was handy and much less hassle for the user.

Totally agree and I also wasn't happy when they took away an easy way for customers to stay with Avast even though they no longer wanted to use a paid version.  :(

First time I not needed to repair my avast IS installation after the update on Windows 10 to fix the firewall. All went smoothly from the first time, good job  ;)
