(RESOLVED) Issue with Firewall statistics on Latest Version
« on: February 03, 2016, 09:03:42 PM »
This issue has been fixed by a updated firewall driver which will be released next version. I have tested and confirmed the statistics show as intended.

I've just looked over the statistics and the firewall stats are not showing anything - even though it says it's running.

A repair and clean install have not fixed it.

Anyone got the same issue?

The older version did not have this issue and it looks like there is a new firewall driver..

Could you check AvastUi/Tools/Firewall/Network Connection ->Speed?
Thanks

Thanks for your reply, Pavel.

I have attached a screenshot but the speed is showing no figures at all - even when browsing, watching videos online and downloading.

Thanks.

I just noticed I have the same issue.
Even through I'm downloading a game on Steam, there's no sign of network activity in the Statistics.

EDIT: Just noticed too that I don't have any blocked traffic in the Firewall logs (I know that I used to have lots of them, since I'm using mostly of time public mode).

Please specify version of your Windows. If this problem is related to Win 8 or 10, please check properties of your network connection. If you will se Avast Firewall component there, uninstall it and reboot.

Hi Martin,

Thanks for your reply.

I'm running Windows 10 and it should be specified in my signature.

Regarding your question, I see no Avast Firewall component in the network connection properties - I did do a clean install previously of Avast.

I have attached a screenshot.

Hello.
The same goes for me, Using Windows 8.1 Pro, and no Avast! Firewall component.

EDIT: I forgot to tell that I also did a clean installation of Avast!.

See/click the attached below:

Seems your window is missing the options enclosed in the red box.  Suggestion:  Main window shows option to turn Firewall on or off.  I suggest turning it off/reboot, turn it on/reboot.  Better?

EDIT:  (seems first png is not scrollable, so second attached.)

Yes, I did (even Avast! tells you to reboot the machine).

I will try doing that now.

EDIT: I tried, and look  what appeared for a brief moment (see screenshot).
Unfortunately, it only appeared when I connected in a network, after that it will just stay at zero (tried opening different programs and website, but no success).

If you wish to see columns which mchain encloses to red box you must check Detailed View check-box.

Nori-chan, I don't know whether I understand you correctly, but if you are not connected to network then you cannot see any network traffic.

What Nori is saying is that when he connects, it shows network statistics for a short moment.

Then WITHOUT disconnecting from the network, the statistics are still NOT displayed even when browsing etc

So the issue remains..

Alikhan said exactly what's happening here.
When I connect, it shows some network activity for a brief moment.
And then, without disconnecting, it doesn't show any network activity anymore.

May I ask: Is the firewall actually working? (maybe without statistics and logs).
Or it's not even working anymore?
