Different Browsers
« on: February 04, 2016, 11:45:01 PM »
I have downloaded Avast Mac Security 2015 and normally use the Safari browser. It seems to be working fine with that browser but when I use Chrome or Firefox I don't see any indication that it is working on those browsers. No messages indicating any of the sites I visit with those browsers are being scanned ( no "this site is safe messages").I am assuming it is not functioning with those browsers -why?

The Web shield works regardless of the browser you are using. The webshield does not alter the page
content (unless a threat is found of course) nor does it interact with the browser GUI. If it is on or off can
be managed/seen on the preferences page in the Avast GUI.

You are probably referring to the AOS browser extension, that provides some additional features like
page ratings. The AOS extensions/browser plugins must be installed separately which can be done from
the "Tools" page in the Avast GUI.
