PAY MODE FAIL

This afternoon I downloaded the latest pro program update. 11.1.2253
I can not get PAY MODE to work it says SOMETHING WENT WRONG and to try again and then gives suggestions.
I have shut down and tried again twice with no success.
(I have also noticed my changes to an UK English dictionary are not holding.)
The only way I can get into my bank is not to use the safe browser.

Perform a repair of avast.
If that doesn't solve it, perform a clean installation of the latest version.

 If I do a clean install does it pick up the licence automatically.?

No, you will need to use your license file.

 I tried to repair and restarted ...same fault

I tried to Uninstall...screen stuck at  pro antivirus setup ... launching executable file.......
and progress strip. did not move in half an hour. so gave up.

tried again in safe mode  stuck at same point...

Can't uninstall Avast
still cant use PAY MODE.   Totally Flummoxed
Any other Ideas on uninstalling... is there a special tool?
